Town and Village of
Seneca Falls, Seneca County

The Town and Village of Seneca Falls are updating their joint comprehensive plan.
The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee held a Community Visioning Workshop in September, and a mail survey was distributed in November. We thank all community residents who participated in these events.

The Survey results are in!

At the January meeting, the Steering Committee reviewed the initial results of the mail survey sent out to all Town and Village residents in November. You can view the results in the following three documents:

  • Survey Results in spreadsheet format
  • Summary and initial analysis of the survey
  • Summary of the questions requiring a written response

The Steering Committee has also begun developing a Draft Vision Statement using the information from the two Visioning Workshops held in September, and the Youth Workshop held in October. They will continue this exercise at the February meeting.

Another valuable exercise in the comprehensive planning process is the identification of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) facing the community. This tool can help the committee members make sense of the vast amounts of information gathered during the planning process. A draft version of the SWOT for Seneca Falls has been started, and will continue to be developed as the committee moves toward developing the list of issues to be addressed in the plan.
